This game takes a lot of set up initially, at least 20 min., the first time. I'm kind of surprised how much my 9yr. old loves this game. Since she got it for Christmas, she has played it every chance she gets. We are not familiar with the original Mall Madness, so I can't compare. It is kind of complicated at first, need to read lots of directions. Players really have to pay attention to the game, and whose turn it is, because if you press the button too early that player will lose their turn. The 2nd time we played, we thought it was broken: it said "all players go to the ATM" and then it kind of froze, we restarted, and it happened again. Just keep sliding the ATM cards to get past this glitch, or maybe we missed this in the directions. There is a bit of strategy, some money management, and chance. I paid $12 here, and it was worth every penny.

I am very happy with this transaction. The game was brand new, the box still had its plastic casing around it. The price to buy the product brand new was a great price. There were sellers that had this game as used and were charging more money. This game really was a steal. The game was shipped out the next day and I received it three days later. I am kicking myself for not buying more of these when they were 75% off (we like to stock up on the good stuff for toy donations and friend gifts).
My 7 year old, her friends, and I love this game. The game is fun and educational for the girls. They have to add and subtract money, economize and sale shop in order to minimize (wasted turns) trips to the ATM, and strategize with regards to who to send where in order to improve chances of being first to finish the shopping list.
The suggested age on the box is 9 and up. I cannot speak to that age group because my 10yr old son won't go near the game, but I definitely think the age should have been 7 and up because it is very appropriate for 7 year old girls.

My daughter, who is 9, has been asking for this game for 2 years. She got it for Christmas this year and ABSOLUTELY loves it!!! It is somewhat time-consuming to set it up, but well worth the work!!! I must admit, I enjoy playing it as much as she does!!!

DVD games are the newest craze and this one definitely caters to the target age range. A variety of cool activities will keep the young players excited. The game pieces are miniature versions of the characters and sit on sparkly stands. Narrated by Jackson, the rules are easy-to-follow and fun. However, if someone hasn't watched the show, playing this game might be a problem, as it includes a lot of show clips and trivia.
Also, it seems much more entertaining with three or four players, rather than two. But these minor drawbacks don't take away from the light-hearted fun of this girly game. If your little ones are into fashion, music, and Hannah Montana, this is definitely the DVD game for them.
Rock Out with Hannah
Perfect for your little performer, this game has multiple activities to keep kids entertained. Girls can rock-out to Hannah's hits in their own karaoke-style performances or put together outfits for the whole gang. They can even strike a pose at a celebrity fashion shoot!
Every true Hannah fan tests their knowledge by answering tricky trivia questions. As players win challenges they receive tokens, with objective to collect one token in each category. Once a player collects a token in each category, they must pass two challenges to win the game and land tickets to the concert.
Game Setup
This DVD game is fun for the whole family. Just pop in the disc, choose a character, and you're ready to play. The game includes six of your favorite characters. Roll the sparkly dice and move your character along the circular game board. Jackson, one of the show's funniest characters, explains the rules. The menu is a cinch to navigate, even for young children. During the challenges, the game plays some of the show's best clips and sometimes asks for players to guess song lyrics and name Hannah songs. I have a 6 year old daughter who is really into Hannah Montana and we purchased this for her birthday. She was thrilled to get the toy and after 10 minutes of play we decided to kind of shorten the game so she could win. There is nothing that happens when you win, so don't waste your time. There is no educational value in this game and the questions repeat themselves over and over and over. Very boring and not very well made. Could have been so much better had they just had about 50 more questions and something cool at the ending when the child wins. Save your money, this is not worth the shipping cost if it were free.

This game is awful. My daughter loves Hannah Montana - and so do I (her mom). But that doesn't matter because the game is a complete waste of time. There are ridiculous questions and categories, and I think we didn't even finish playing it the first time through. The categories are dumb and it doesn't really reflect the show. We are huge fans of the show but this game is a bomb. I just read they are coming out with a new one! Good for them. The HSM dvd game is decent - except for the "dance moves" category, but other than that, it is a lot of fun. I would have thought HM would have had the same premise, but it didn't. Maybe the next one will be better!

We have played this game only three times now and have already decided it stinks. We have seen he same questions repeated almost all three games -- and they don't go "in order" so that's not the problem. It appears they don't have a large supply of questions and challenges to pool from. That's suprising considering it's a DVD - where there shouuld be ample digital space to hold lots of information (other DVD games hold lots and lots of questions) We are extremely disappointed and don't really see the point in playing again as we know the answers to the questions now. The game itself was fun, but the DVD just didn't have enough questions and challenges to keep it fun more than once or twice.

Bought this for my 7 year old. All it is is a slim desk that lights up. It comes with a flimsy pad of thin paper that has some Hannah designs on it. You're supposed to put one of those papers down on the desk, then your own white paper on top of it & trace it. The box makes it look like there are 3 different Hannah designs, but really there's just one. And half the outfits you're supposed to trace to put on the Hannah figures are of the shape of the missing Hannah figures instead of the one that actually comes with the toy. Many of the tracing designs are extremely intricate, making it difficult for anyone but a teenager to do. When you're done tracing, they give you the option of putting sticker outfits on your Hannah figure, but the toy only comes with about 10 stickers. So clearly that won't last long. Overall, this might be fun for a one-time use. But not more than that.

I would not recommend this game for kids that read on a 3rd grade level. I also think that the activities are for small children maybe even preschoolers. The combination of reading & activity do not match.
older kids will be bored & younger kids will have trouble understanding the game.
The graphs are the best part of the game and they are not even that great.
If you have a an easily amused older kid, or a preschool that reads on a 3erd grade level that this is the game for you.

My daughter (7) loves this video game system. It is so easy to use...plug right into the TV. It has several different games to play on it...actually has a lot. It's like having a mini-Wii. Not all the games are HM related and my 10 year old son likes it as well.

Be prepared, this game requires a total of 7 batteries, 4 AA's and 3 AAA's. I didnt see how many batteries it needed at the time I ordered it, but the gift still seems to be well worth it, as the little girl's eyes I gave it to lit up when she saw it. With this game, you can help Miley sing, go shopping, send text messages...... basically you get to pretend like you're acting in an eposide of her show.
